Collection: The Kshetriya Collection

THE KSHETRIYA COLLECTION

“Tailored for the Quiet Warrior Within”

There is a warrior in every woman, soft but unyielding, graceful but grounded. Our
“Kshetriya Collection” is a tribute to this power.
Inspired by the Sanskrit word “Kshatriya”, referring to the warrior caste in Hindu
tradition—the protectors, rulers, and upholders of dharma (similar to duty)—this
collection reclaims that legacy for the modern woman. Kshetriya is not about war; it
is about strength, responsibility, and the sacred duty to show up fully as yourself. It is
an homage to our mothers, our foremothers, and to you—the woman rewriting what
power dressing means today.

Essence of the Design
In Hindu philosophy, the ‘stomach or navel’ is regarded as the source of life—the site
of creation and the seat of feminine energy. Covering it completely is not always
necessary; in fact, it is often seen as sacred to reveal. This belief is reflected in
centuries of Indian and Nepali art, from the sensuous stone goddesses of Lumbini to
the flowing sarees of classical dance.
Our blazer sets carry that history forward. ‘The dramatic sharp cuts around the
midriff’—designed with conscious negative space—celebrate the power and grace of
the female form. These aren’t just design choices. They are a form of cultural
remembering.

KSHETRIYA I
The Kshetriya I, made with 95% polyester and 5% lycra, is fluid, stretchable, and
unapologetically soft. Ideal for warmer days or long walks between moments, it
moves with you, never against. In Hindu culture, neutral tones are worn during
pujas (rituals) and spiritual offerings. They symbolise clarity, openness, and
groundedness, values that align with the Kshetriya woman, who leads not by
domination but by discernment. Beige allows space for presence. It doesn’t distract;
it reflects.
Crafted with 95% polyester and 5% lycra, Kshetriya I is all about ease in
structure—firm enough to command shape, yet flexible enough to move when you
do. Polyester gives this set a luxurious, structured sheen while ensuring durability
and wrinkle resistance. Lycra, that hint of stretch, means the suit moves with your
body, not against it. Whether you’re sitting in a strategy meeting or walking into a
quiet revolution, you are comfortable, confident, and unrestricted.
The sleeves of Kshetriya I are where function meets quiet femininity. Instead of
stiff cuffs or unnecessary buttons, we chose to finish the sleeves with tailored fabric

bows—delicate, yes, but deeply intentional. These aren’t just for show.
The adjustable ties allow you to pull your sleeves up with ease—to write, to
move, to carry, to hold. Whether you're typing out strategy, lifting coffee trays, holding
hands with a child, or gesturing with conviction—your outfit adapts to your day,
not the other way around. In many South Asian cultures, untying and tying is a
sacred gesture—from undoing bangles to draping sarees.

KSETRIYA II & AADHARA
The Ksetriya II features a cuffed in-built bra—a subtle nod to armour, but one that
embraces rather than restricts. The angular tailoring and nipped-in waist structure
channel quiet authority, while the soft inner lining and light shoulder padding ensure
comfort in every movement
The Adhara, meaning base, foundation or support in Nepalese language,
complements both blazers with a structured but forgiving silhouette, cut to honour
the hips and curve along the thighs.
. In Hindu tradition, ‘navy blue represents depth, dignity, and divine intelligence’. It is
the colour of Krishna, the eternal protector, the soulful strategist, and the cosmic
lover. Navy doesn’t shout; it commands through quiet presence. It is also a universal
colour for leadership, not just in boardrooms, but in life. A colour that doesn’t age,
doesn’t tire, and doesn’t compromise. It flatters every skin tone, speaks of strength,
and flows seamlessly between formal and personal spaces. Like you, it is versatile,
anchored, and resilient.
As for the material: this skirt is crafted with a carefully balanced blend—60% rayon,
30% wool, and 10% textron. Each element was selected for a reason.
Rayon offers silk-like softness, giving the skirt a graceful drape and gentle movement
with each step.
Wool provides breathability and structure, symbolising endurance and tradition—just
like the Himalayan fabrics passed from generation to generation.
And textron, a refined synthetic fibre, adds that modern resilience—wrinkle
resistance, ease of care, and a crisp finish that stays with you all day.
Together, these materials create a fabric that feels like a second skin—grounded,
forgiving, and tailored to move with intention. This isn’t fast fashion. This is fabric
chosen like memory: soft enough to hold you, strong enough to carry you forward.

Why Bhuna? Why Now?
Named after my mother Bhuna Devi Basnet, this brand exists to honour the beauty
in being bold without shouting, traditional without being dated. In a world that asks

women to flatten themselves, Bhuna invites you to stand tall—with fabric, with form,
and with memory.
In a time when identity is shaped by algorithms and trends, Kshetriya asks you to
wear your roots—to carry the timeless elegance of Himalayan craftsmanship and the
spirit of women who built worlds before ours.
Because power doesn't always look like a suit.
But when it does, it should look like this.
